Scooby (S26-104)

Meet Scooby, a Goofy, Smart Boy Ready for His Next Adventure

Scooby is a 6-month-old German Shepherd mix weighing 46 pounds. This sweet boy is goofy, super intelligent, outgoing, and loves being part of the action. He can still be a little shy in new situations, but he is continuing to learn about the world around him and build positive experiences along the way. He loves treats and having a job to do, which are great ways to keep his busy mind engaged while helping him learn.

Scooby loves other dogs and does best with a social canine companion who can keep him company and match his playful energy. He could happily play with his dog friends all day! Since he is still young and learning how to socialize appropriately, his enthusiasm and energy may be a lot for some dogs. He will benefit from continued guidance as he learns when to play, when to slow down, and how to read his canine friends.

Scooby hates missing out on the fun and loves opportunities to socialize, play, explore, and try new things. He has also met children at the shelter and has done well with them.

Scooby is still mastering his leash skills, especially when walking solo, and requires a fenced-in yard while he continues working on them. Having a secure space to play, exercise, and explore will give him an appropriate outlet while he becomes more comfortable walking on leash in new environments.

As an intelligent and active young dog, Scooby thrives when he has something to do. Training, enrichment, adventures, and activities that challenge both his mind and body will help him continue growing into a well-rounded adult dog.

Scooby is looking for a family excited to embrace all the fun that comes with a young, energetic German Shepherd mix. With positive reinforcement, consistency, plenty of appropriate social opportunities, and a canine friend by his side, Scooby has so much potential to thrive.

A required in-person meet and greet at our shelter is part of the adoption process to help ensure a good fit for Scooby, his potential adopters, and any resident dogs.
