Georgie is a 5-year-old Poodle weighing just 11.6 pounds who may not have eyes, but he certainly has plenty of love to give!

Georgie is completely blind and has had both of his eyes removed. Because he cannot see, having a safe, stable, and predictable environment is incredibly important for him. Georgie needs time to map out his surroundings and learn where everything is so he can confidently explore on his own. Keeping furniture, food and water, and his other important spaces consistent will help him feel secure. Routine is very important for Georgie.

He is still a timid little guy and does experience anxiety, especially when things are unfamiliar or unpredictable. Once Georgie feels safe, though, his incredibly sweet personality starts to shine. He can be picked up and cuddled, and honestly, being held and loved on might just be his favorite thing in the world!

Georgie isn't asking for a particularly busy lifestyle. He loves finding a comfortable, safe spot where he can curl up and sleep the day away. But don't let his love of naps fool you-he is always available when someone is offering love, cuddles, and hugs!

Georgie is also heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment. His adopter will need to be committed to following his treatment plan, keeping his activity appropriately restricted, and returning for any necessary appointments and continued care throughout treatment.

Between his blindness, anxiety, and heartworm treatment, Georgie will need a family who understands that patience, consistency, and routine are essential. He may experience the world a little differently, but once he knows he's safe, all he really wants is a cozy place to rest and someone he can trust to hold him close.
