Animal ShelterThe Cranston Animal Shelter is working to redefine what a municipal animal shelter can be. We believe our responsibility goes far beyond responding to calls and providing animals with a temporary place to stay. Our goal is to create a shelter that is actively involved in the community while giving every animal in our care the support, compassion, and advocacy they deserve.
Our Animal Control Officers are involved in every part of that mission—from protecting animals in the community and responding to those in need, to caring for the animals inside our shelter and helping prepare them for their next chapter.
We are continuing to grow our volunteer and foster programs, strengthen community involvement, provide medical and behavioral resources when needed, and work toward finding the right outcome for each individual animal.
Most importantly, we want to be a voice for the animals who cannot speak for themselves. Every animal that comes through our doors has different needs and a different story. We are committed to taking the time to understand those needs, advocate for their well-being, and give them the best opportunity possible.
We are proud to be helping change the perception of what a city shelter can be—not simply a place animals come to, but a place that fights for them.
