The purpose of the Society shall be to provide shelter, prevent cruelty to animals, and advocate for their welfare. Through humane education, the Society strives to enlighten the public with the goal of improving the quality of life for animals and people.

The Lowell Humane Society is here to help families and pets stay together whenever possible. We aim to be a resource to the community and help make the world a better place for pets and the people who love them.

Adoptions, Fostering Program, Volunteer Program

We want to be sure the fit is right- ideally all people and dogs in the home will be present to meet your new dog. We want to be sure you can have dogs where you live and that you have a veterinarian in mind to bring your pet to. If the pet you are interested in has a medical condtion- we will require a veterinary reference. If the pet you are interested in has behavior needs, we will need you to register for training.

View all pets on our website or stop in to visit during our open hours. Please note- our dog kennel is not open for walk throughs but we will gladly bring a dog out for you to walk if we think they are a good fit for your home!
