Fat Kitty City Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to ending needless suffering, through spaying, neutering, socialization & adoption, and other community-based programs. We currently operate a rare on-of-a-kind no-kill cat sanctuary on a 20-acre tree-studded natural environment where cats can live safely and roam free in Northern California.

About Us
We are one of Northern California's largest cat sanctuary. Our cats live in a cage free protected environment and have everything they needs to maintain a happy and healthy life. For those kitties that are able to be adopted they they have no limit on the time they need until we match them to their forever home. We strive to help cats in crisis all throughout the community through free and low cost spay and neuter and we go the extra step to provide medical care for cats in crisis.

Adoption Process
So that we can assist you with your selection of a new pet, the information below is required. Also, the completion and submission of our Adoption Form is required. This form, along with a consultation with a Fat Kitty City Humane Society representative, are designed to help us determine if the adoption is in the animal's best interest and to assist you in finding an animal most compatible with your lifestyle.
In order to be considered as an adopter you must:
Be 21 years of age or older
Have government-issued identification showing your present address
Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord
Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet.
Completion and submission of the Adoption Form does not guarantee adoption of an animal from the Fat Kitty City Humane Society.
How to Meet Our Pets
Please view our pets online and fill out our application link through our website for a chance to meet our kitties at our sanctuary. You can also drop into one of our adoption locations at PetSmart or Petco and see our available kitties (mostly kittens). An Application is still required for a formal meet n greet.
Special Programs & Areas Served
Special Programs: Our Kitties for Companionship program places cats or seniors that sometimes can't put their best paw forward for into homes and provides life long medical care to take the burden off their new family. Our kitten parent program assists the community by supporting caregivers who find kitten families in need, but providing food, medical care, spay & neuter and a safe place for adoption. Throughout Clear the Shelters Week, adopters will be sent home with a care package to kickstart their new journey with their families.
