Buffalo CARES was started by 7 people who have worked together for years at various other rescues. We started this rescue because we wanted to make sure our rescue was run the right way. We saw a need for a rescue in the Buffalo, NY area that would help & rescue local dogs. The majority of our animals are local animals.

Adoptions, Spay/Neuter Services, Training/Behavior, Public Education
Adoption Process
All adoptions require, reference checks, vet reference checks, home visits, meet & greets. From there we will determine if that applicant is right for the dog they are interested in. At the adoption, a contract will be signed and an adoption fee will be paid. Fee's are based on the specific dog. Puppies, adults, bully breeds or special needs.
Special Programs & Areas Served
Areas Served: Buffalo, NY and surrounding counties (Erie County, Niagara County, Orleans County, Cattaraugus). We also pull dogs from high-kill shelters in the state of Ohio as well as states in the south
