Our Mission

Second Chance Dog Rescue was formed to fulfill a desperate need in the community to “Rescue, Rehabilitate & Rehome” homeless dogs from families who can no longer take care of their animals due to financial distress, and from over-crowded local shelters. Our program is based on foster care, and all rescued dogs spend their first days at a loving foster home where they receive personalized care. As part of our program, we ensure that all dogs have their shots, are micro-chipped, are spayed or neutered, and have been socialized by their foster family. In addition, Second Chance Dog Rescue provides support for potential new owners and monitors progress for both new pet parents and their adopted dogs. This helps guarantee that our dogs go to loving, forever homes.

Adoption Process

We require an adoption questionnaire to be completed before a scheduled meeting. Then, if the meet & greet is successful, an adoption contract is entered into, with a two week trial period. An adoption fee is required at that time. If, during the two week foster trial period, the adoption is not working out, we will take the dog back and may refund a portion of the adoption fee.
