Description
Meet Carter, a charming 5-6 month old dog, weighing approximately 8 pounds, with an anticipated adult weight of 15-18 pounds.
Carter was discovered alone by a Good Samaritan, who found him with ear problems, skin issues, and hair loss. Following an unsuccessful attempt to locate his original owner, Carter was taken in by Papillon Pals Rescue. After receiving veterinary care, Carter's health has improved significantly, with his skin, coat, and ears now in good condition. He has also been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Carter is now ready for adoption.
In terms of his temperament, Carter exhibits good leash manners and responds to basic commands such as 'sit.' Or playing fetch. While he sleeps well in a crate overnight, he experiences separation anxiety and has a loud bark, making him less suitable for apartment living or owners with traditional work arrangements. Carter is currently undergoing house training on a two-hour schedule but faces challenges when left alone or in situations of high excitement.
Carter is highly social and enjoys interacting with other dogs, making him an ideal companion for another energetic, small dog. However, his high energy levels may not be suitable for households with cats or calmer dogs.
Our adoption radius is 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL. All other pets in the home must be current on their vaccines, spayed/neutered & on heartworm prevention.
