Description

This adorable pup is RUCKER and he's a sweet and calm Yellow Lab! He's approximately 2 years old and fully grown at 57 pounds. He has an awesome personality and is great with everyone he meets and very relaxed when playing with other dogs. He was a bit shy when we first met him but he's gained confidence and is feeling much more comfortable in his Foster home. He gets along great with everyone he meets and lived with kids in his home and loved them! He loves to go for walks and play with a ball in the backyard. He will be a wonderful addition to a loving adopter who can give him a happy and fulfilling life. We think he'd do best in a home in the suburbs with a fully fenced in yard. He's totally healthy and up to date on all his vaccinations. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue ([email protected]) to get more info or videos on this beautiful pup!

  • Adoption Process:

Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
