Meet Xena — the resilient pup with a heart of gold!
Puppy is as puppy does—curious, playful, and learning what life is all about. Xena started out scared and skinny on the streets of Chicago, but thanks to a kind advocate and a loving foster home, she’s discovering the good in the world.
Xena is a 5 month old pittie mix ready to find her forever home!
This sweet girl loves:
Soaking up the sun
Peanut butter & bully sticks
Apples, bananas & all the snacks
Cozy naps on soft blankets
Snuggling up after a day of play
Chill dogs who respect her space
She’s not a fan of:
Windy Chicago days
Rain & baths
The crate (but she's trying!)
Xena is working hard on crate and potty training, and with patience, structure, and love, she’s going to make an amazing lifelong companion.

Wags 2 Wishes is a licensed Animal Rescue in Plainfield, IL. that has foster homes in cities across Illinois and Northwest Indiana as well as our rescue center. Our mission is to rescue abused, sick, abandoned and forgotten dogs from high kill animal shelters in Illinois and surrounding states. Once rescued, the dog moves into a safe and secure foster home when available where their medical, training and social needs are addressed and they wait for their forever home. W2W provides all medical, vetting treatment and training needed. Most times the medical and training cost far exceed the adoption fees charged. Once the dog is cleared medically, they are then moved into our rescue center and ready for adoption. Your support allows us to "to save more lives". All adoption fees cover: Dogs: Rabies, Spay/Neuter, DAPP, Bordetella, Deworming, heartworm testing and microchip.
