Are you an active family looking for a high energy pup to keep up with your lifestyle? Maybe a dog with agility, obedience, or scent work potential? Then look no further. Diesel is a young Sheltie/Australian Shepherd mix (best guess) who is searching for a family who is willing to help him reach his full potential. We expect Diesel to mature to around 30lbs based on his current size. He is food/toy/treat motivated and is eager to learn. He has a relatively high drive when it comes to play, and could play fetch for hours if he could, and always has a toy in his mouth. He is always on the go, and always looking for his next adventure. Diesel needs a home who is specifically looking for an active dog to train and someone who understands and has previous experience with everything a high energy herding breed comes with (mental and physical stimulation are very important). Diesel is housebroken and crate trained on a schedule, and is fostered with other dogs, cats, and kids and loves everyone. He is a little nervous meeting new people when in new situations, but once he feels comfortable, he is ready to rock. Diesel does need a home with a physically fenced in yard, he is not the kind of dog who would do well on a tie out/leashed, and he is a runner if he gets loose. Another young, energetic dog in the home, as he spends a majority of his time actively playing and wrestling with the other dogs in his foster home. Diesel would do best in a busy home who loves going on adventures and is up for a training a high energy dog. He also loves to swim. His adoption fee includes neuter through our rescue vet, puppy shots, worming and chip. We have a 2 week trial on all adoptions.
