Description

Pit Bull Mix | Male | 2.5 years | 85 lbs | Adoption Fee $100

Requirements: Crated when Unsupervised | Children 10+ | No Small Animals
Preferred: Only Dog

My name is Warden, and I am a really good boy! I have been with my foster family for a while now and I am ready to find a family of my own.

I have so many amazing qualities. I am fully potty trained and crate trained. One little kennel treat sends me racing to my crate. I settle into my crate when my foster family is away from the house or not able to watch me. I am also handsome! If you think my pictures are good, you should see me in person. As for cats and other small animals – hard pass please, I have a little too much fun with the chase.

I am such a happy boy! I give off total lab energy. I am not much of a snuggler, but when I see my people I have full body wiggles, and a good butt scratch or belly rub and you are my new best friend. I enjoy spending time outside and would love a home where I have a safe space to run and play.

My real love language, though, is FOOD. Mealtime, treats, healthy snacks, you name it and I love it! Food motivation has really helped with command training and enrichment activities. And you can bet if you are cooking I will be at your side, ready to help with the clean up.

I am a big, strong boy with a big play style and a big personality. I will need a home that allows me to stretch out and have room to play and relax. I will also need an adopter who can handle my strength and size.

What can I say? My foster family thinks I am amazing, I am smart, stunning, and silly. I will need continued training once adopted to be the best pup I can be. I would be best in a home as an only dog, but could possibly do well with another larger, tolerant dog who can understand my type of play. If you think you are the right family for me, apply to meet me today!

  • Adoption Process:

Our top priority here at WGR is to find the best possible home for each dog. We screen potential adopters in a variety of ways to ensure that every dog goes to a home that is safe, loving, and lasting. During the adoption process, you will work closely with your dog's foster parent(s), who know your dog most intimately and can determine if your home is the best fit for your dog. We will take an application, run a background check, and ensure all of your information is accurate. We schedule a meet & greet for your family to interact with your dog prior to adopt and we may also perform a scheduled home visit as well. All adopters sign a contract that outlines and promises proper treatment and care for your pet. The process may seem strict but it is that way on purpose. Most of the dogs we rescue come from shelters and/or abusive pasts. We are 100% dedicated to finding them a home where they can be happy, healthy, strong, loved, and cared for every day for the rest of their lives. ***We adopt to Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota only at this time. Residents of Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota will be required to drive to Wisconsin for a meet and greet and the dog that they apply for MUST already be spayed or neutered at the time of adoption.***
  • Mission Statement:

Woof Gang Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no-kill, all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Wisconsin and Illinois areas. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – primarily focusing on dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
