<p>Beaux is a high-energy cuddlebug with an impressive brain and an enormous capacity for affection. His former owner says he loves curling up right beside his person and will lie there contentedly for as long as the pets continue. When it is time to get moving, Beaux is ready for running, fetch, tug-of-war, walks, squeaky toys, stuffed toys, or a good chew bone.</p><p>
</p><p>Beaux has already learned 'sit', 'down', 'come', 'look at me', and can even bark on cue! Recent shelter outings have shown that he can be an excellent loose-leash walker. He has also participated successfully in shelter playgroup, where he ran into the yard, enjoyed push-pull play, and was paired with a doggy roommate. Beaux has potential to live with a well-matched canine companion, so ask shelter staff about scheduling a meet-and-greet with your resident dogs!</p><p>
</p><p>Beaux recently met a family with four children ages nine through seventeen and appeared to be living his best life-allowing everyone to pet him and leaning against them to request even more affection. </p><p>
</p><p>His former owner reported that Beaux could be wary of unfamiliar people, particularly when someone entered his home or approached too quickly. He does best with calm, gradual introductions, preferably outside the home, and may need a little time to decide that a new person is a friend. Once that happens, his former owner said he becomes thrilled to see them.</p><p>
