Astaire (The Blue Point)

The Vibe:
Astaire is a classic Siamese mix through and through, right down to his fancy white boots and his desire to tell you all about his day. He is confident, endlessly curious, and very vocal. If you are looking for a quiet shadow, Astaire might not be your guy-but if you want a chatty companion who will trill, meow, and give you his loud, honest opinions on everything (especially closed doors), you've found your leading man.

The Polite Gentleman:
Despite his big personality, Astaire is incredibly well-mannered. He is unfazed by drama and doesn't take grumpy cats personally. When introduced to a hissing resident cat, he just sat there purring. When given the chance to meet another cat through a door crack, he offered a polite purr and a gentle nose-touch. He's a sweet, gentle soul who just wants everyone to get along.

Play & Energy:
Astaire has a high play drive and needs dedicated, interactive play sessions to burn off his energy. He loves jumping, chasing wand toys, and showing off his athleticism. He can be a little cautious of new electronic toys at first, but once he figures them out, he's all in. Because he plays hard and gets very enthusiastic, he can be a bit tough on cat toys!
Note: Because of his high energy, Astaire needs a playful feline companion in his forever home to wrestle with and help him burn off that Siamese steam.

Cuddles & Affection:
Astaire is what we like to call an 'apprentice lap cat.' He is incredibly sweet, loves being pet, and actively seeks you out, but he's still figuring out the exact logistics of human cuddling. He'll walk right up purring and, once he gets comfortable, he'll settle into your lap or press his warm side against your leg. He even surprised me with one incredibly sweet, gentle chin headbutt! He isn't an instant lap-cat just yet, but with a little gentle encouragement and patience, he is getting braver every single day and happily melting in.

Underdog Pet Rescue of Wisconsin, Inc. cats are up to date on the following medical treatments before adoption:
Spay or Neuter
Rabies and distemper up to date (as age appropriate-kitten adopters may need to provide their adopted pets with rabies vaccine and distemper boosters if adopted before 14 weeks)
FeLV/FIV test (FeLV only for kittens under six months)
Microchip

Our adult cat adoption fee is $75. It is $125 for two adults. Our kitten adoption fee (under 5 mo) is $175. If two kittens are adopted at the same time, our adoption fee is $300 for the pair. If an adult cat is adopted with a kitten, our adoption fee is $225.
