Meet Grimm - Your Very Own Direwolf!

Beautiful, sassy, and full of personality, Grimm is a roughly 3-year-old Norwegian Elkhound mix who looks like he stepped straight out of Game of Thrones. With his gorgeous wolf-like appearance, expressive face, and larger-than-life personality, he's sure to turn heads wherever he goes. But behind that majestic exterior is a sensitive boy who needs a very special home to help him feel safe and secure.

Grimm's story started with heartbreak. He was abandoned at a dog park, and that experience has left him struggling with separation anxiety. When left alone, Grimm paces, cries, and has a hard time settling. He needs a home where someone is present with him the vast majority of the time, ideally someone who is home full-time and understands that being alone is genuinely distressing for him. This is not something that will simply disappear overnight, and his future family must be prepared to work patiently and consistently with him.

A few things you should know about Grimm:

He's a social butterfly! Grimm loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. If you already have a dog, he may fit right in! He is also potty-trained and working on his crate training.

He has a LOT to say. Grimm is a talker in the most endearing way. He has that wonderfully expressive, almost human-like Husky-style chatter that can make you laugh and fall in love with him. However, his vocalizations can get loud, so an apartment, condo, or home with shared walls would not be a suitable fit. He needs a home where he can express himself without disturbing the neighbors.

His medications matter. Grimm currently takes behavioral medication to help manage his anxiety, and he needs a family committed to keeping him on his prescribed medication as directed by his veterinarian. His medication is an important part of his care plan, not something to discontinue casually.

He needs patience, structure, and commitment. Grimm is a wonderful dog with so much potential, but he will need continued work, understanding, and consistency to become a comfortable, confident, and stable member of his new family. His adopter must be ready to learn about separation anxiety, follow through with his care plan, and make his emotional well-being a priority.

Imagine walking beside this stunning, wolf-like boy and feeling as though you've wandered straight into Westeros. Now imagine coming home to his enthusiastic greetings, quirky conversations, and big personality. Grimm has so much to offer the right person, and watching him learn that he is safe, loved, and not going to be abandoned again could be incredibly rewarding.

Grimm is not a fit for every home, and that's okay. He needs more than someone who admires his looks or falls in love with his charming personality. He needs someone who understands the responsibility of helping a dog with separation anxiety, has a lifestyle that allows them to be home with him, and is ready to make a long-term commitment to his needs.

In the right home, with the right person, Grimm has the opportunity to thrive. If you have the time, patience, and heart to give this beautiful boy the stability he deserves, Grimm might just be your very own direwolf. Interested in meeting him?
