Meet Cornelia (aka Chicken)!

Cornelia is an adorable, playful young Chihuahua with a big personality! She's smart, energetic, affectionate, and loves being part of the action. She's currently in a foster home, where she's learning lots of new skills and showing just how much potential she has with the right family.

Cornelia is a busy puppy who loves to play, especially fetch! She knows several commands, including sit, potty, and poop, and is making progress with her training. She's also a big fan of blueberries!

Cornelia has some challenges that her future family will need to be prepared to work through. She can be very mouthy and nippy. She's also shown some resource guarding around food and chews, and can be fearful of strangers and unfamiliar situations. Her foster family has been working with a trainer, but she'll need continued guidance, patience, and consistency. She's still working on housetraining and leash walking.

Cornelia has enjoyed playing with other dogs and responds well to appropriate corrections from confident canine companions. We think she could really benefit from a playful, well-adjusted dog sibling who can help her learn the ropes.

Her ideal home would be an active household with experienced dog owners, plenty of opportunities for play, and people around much of the day. Because of her nipping and resource guarding, she should not be placed with toddlers or young children. Older, dog-savvy children may be a good fit with appropriate supervision.

Cornelia is a fun, spirited little dog with lots of love and energy to share. She's not the easiest puppy, but with the right family and continued training, she has the potential to become a wonderful companion!
