Samson

There's something undeniably hilarious about a cat with a human name. And then there's Samson. Fresh from San Francisco Animal Care & Control, this handsome orange-and-white gentleman looks like he should be reminding you about a meeting, borrowing your lawn mower or telling you he knows a guy who can fix your dishwasher. But nope, he's Samson. A cat. And a very good-looking one at that!

Samson is currently a little shy as he adjusts to his new surroundings, although he has already found himself at the center of some controversy. Our medical team has officially rated his body condition a 9 out of 9, which is veterinarian-speak for approximately 40% overweight. Samson strongly disputes these findings, insists he is simply big-boned and has requested a second opinion from someone who isn't so obsessed with numbers. He would also like it noted that he was not consulted during the examination and considers the entire report highly prejudicial. All kidding aside, Samson will benefit from a veterinarian-guided weight loss plan to help him reach a healthier size. In the meantime, he's taking things slowly, observing his new surroundings and deciding which humans deserve his trust.

Now Samson is looking for a quiet, loving home where he can unpack his emotional baggage, work on his fitness goals and officially become someone's favorite roommate. The name may belong to a legendary strongman, but this Samson believes his greatest strength is his ability to carry a few extra pounds with dignity. Come meet this sweet, shy fellow and help him discover that life as someone's beloved cat is a pretty great gig, even if it comes with portion control!
