Oakley Montague is a sweet and playful tuxedo kitten with a big personality and a very special story. He is an affectionate boy who loves being around people and has completely stolen the hearts of everyone who meets him.
Oakley has a wonky tail from an injury he had when he was very young. His tail will always have its unique shape, but it doesn't bother him at all. We think it just adds to his adorable, quirky charm!
Oakley also experienced a serious injury when he was younger that fractured his pelvis and affected his hips. Thankfully, he has healed remarkably well. He can walk, run, and play normally, although he does have a mild limp that will likely remain. He does not need surgery at this time.
For another month, Oakley should avoid jumping and high-impact activities as much as possible while his pelvis continues to stabilize. Because of his previous hip injury, he may develop arthritis earlier in life. This could be several or many years from now, and if it becomes painful, he may benefit from a procedure called an FHO.
Oakley also had an episode of constipation and currently takes a stool softener to keep his stool soft and comfortable. He uses his litter box normally and has no special cleaning needs. The stool softener should continue through kittenhood, although he may not need it once he is older.
Oakley's Favorite Things 🧸
🦇 His bat toy
🌀 Spiral tunnel
🪀 Springs and puff balls
🐭 Soft mice
⚽ Ball-in-circle toy
🪵 Scratch pads
🍽️ Wet food-he cleans his bowl!
Oakley absolutely loves older cats and gets along very well with them. He may need more time to trust kittens his own age, so a home with a friendly older cat could be a great fit.
When he's not playing, Oakley loves to snuggle. He sleeps tucked up close to his person on the bed and enjoys cuddling beside them on the sofa.
Oakley has been through a lot, but he hasn't let it stop him from being a happy, playful, loving kitten. He's quirky, affectionate, resilient, and completely adorable.
Everyone loves Oakley-and we think you will too!
