❤️ Personality & Breed Information

Gum Drop is an adorable Australian Kelpie/Border Collie mix weighing approximately 24 pounds. He's an outgoing, happy young dog who's ready for adventure and excited to find people to share it with.

Gum Drop is friendly with dogs, cats, and children. His social personality and manageable size could make him a great companion for a family looking for a fun young dog who enjoys being included.

Australian Kelpies and Collies are often intelligent, athletic, playful, energetic, affectionate, and eager to engage with their people. Gum Drop may share many of these characteristics.

He's likely to appreciate a lifestyle that gives him opportunities to walk, explore, play, learn new things, and use his brain. Interactive toys, sniffing games, positive training sessions, and outdoor adventures can all help keep an active young dog fulfilled.

Most of all, Gum Drop needs what every young dog deserves: a committed family who will make him part of their life.

Training, Adjustment & What to Expect

Gum Drop is still young, so continued training will be an important part of helping him mature.

His adopter should be prepared to continue working on leash manners, recall, basic commands, household boundaries, calm greetings, and any house or crate training that may still be needed.

Training should be positive, consistent, patient, and rewarding.

The 3-3-3 Rule:

3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to learn his new household routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home

Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care

Gum Drop's neuter, vaccination, and microchip status were not provided.

His future family should review his medical records with their veterinarian and continue routine wellness examinations, vaccinations and boosters as recommended, neutering if not already completed, parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, grooming, exercise, and veterinary treatment whenever necessary.
