❤️ Personality & Breed Information

Felipe is a handsome Weimaraner weighing approximately 60 pounds. He's a sweet, loving young dog who is ready to find a family that will give him the companionship, activity, and affection he deserves.

Felipe is good with other dogs and children, while his compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Weimaraners are known for forming strong bonds with their people. They are often intelligent, affectionate, athletic, energetic, and eager to participate in whatever their family is doing. They tend to thrive when they're treated as true members of the household and given plenty of opportunities for both physical and mental activity.

Felipe is still a young dog, so his future family should be prepared to provide daily exercise, enrichment, continued training, and plenty of companionship. A bored young Weimaraner can find his own ways to stay entertained, so an engaged and active home will help him thrive.

Felipe would benefit from:

Daily walks and regular physical activity

Playtime and outdoor adventures

Mental stimulation and interactive toys

Positive-reinforcement training

Consistent routines and boundaries

Continued socialization

Plenty of time with his people

A secure home and yard, if applicable

A lifelong commitment

Training, Adjustment & What to Expect

At just over a year old, Felipe is still a young dog with plenty of learning and maturing ahead of him.

Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should be prepared to continue working on leash manners, basic commands, recall, household boundaries, calm greetings, and positive socialization.

Weimaraners are intelligent dogs, and training can provide valuable mental stimulation in addition to teaching good manners. Consistent positive-reinforcement training will help Felipe build confidence and develop a strong relationship with his new family.

The 3-3-3 Rule

3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe

3 Weeks to understand his new household routine

3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home

Even a sweet and social dog needs time to adjust to a completely new environment.

Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care

Felipe is healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He is ready for adoption.

His future family should continue providing routine veterinary wellness exams, recommended vaccine boosters, flea/tick/heartworm and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, regular grooming and nail care, appropriate daily exercise, and veterinary treatment whenever needed.

As an athletic breed, maintaining Felipe at a healthy weight and providing consistent, appropriate exercise will be important throughout his life.
