Lucky Jackson, aka LJ is a handsome three-year-old, 70-pound mixed breed boy with a sweet nature, a big heart, and an even bigger capacity to love. Early in life, he experienced quite a bit of instability, which left him a little unsure of the world at times. Yet, he is still willing to learn. What he's hoping for now is simple: a stable home where he can finally settle in and stay.
LJ is a medium-energy dog who finds a really nice balance between playtime and relaxation. At home, he's calm, affectionate, and easy to live with. Give him a chew toy and he's perfectly happy entertaining himself. He's respectful of his space and yours.
Then his goofy side kicks in. He'll grab a toy, trot around proudly and try to recruit you into playtime. No takers? No problem. He'll keep himself entertained, then settle right back down.
LJ truly thrives on human connection. Encouraging words and affection mean everything to him. You can see how he softens when he knows he did something well. He's also very smart with a wide vocabulary of both basic and advanced commands and he knows it well. He enjoys learning and paying attention to his person.
This wonderful boy is house-trained and crate-trained. He enjoys car rides. When left alone, he settles calmly and keeps an eye on the home. He can be sensitive to environmental noise - things like motorcycles, loud equipment, or busy surroundings. With calm direction and reassurance, he settles and moves through it.
LJ would thrive in a home that offers structure, patience, and encouragement. His ideal home would include: a fenced yard in a quiet neighborhood where he can run and play; a person or family who enjoys engaging with him and building his confidence; and possibly another friendly dog who enjoys playing. Homes with small children or cats would not be the right fit. Teenagers and older would be a great match for him.
What LJ truly needs is someone who sees the wonderful dog he already is and gives him the stability he's been waiting for. In return, he'll bring loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of heart.
