Gus is a 1.5-2-year-old Black Lab mix, weighing about 45 pounds, and he is pure sunshine in dog form. This boy is super, super sweet -- the kind of gentle, loving soul who wins over everyone he meets. Gus is very friendly with dogs, adores kids, and is even great with cats. If it has a heartbeat, Gus wants to be its friend.
His journey hasn't been easy. Gus was on a very urgent list at the Bartow County Shelter and came heartbreakingly close to losing his chance at a happy life. We are so incredibly grateful we pulled him -- he deserves all the love and attention in the world.
When he arrived, this poor boy had some hair loss, an ear infection, and was noticeably underweight. Thankfully, everything was perfectly treatable, and Gus is already feeling so much better. He should ideally be around 50 pounds, and we're helping him get there with good food, care, and lots of love.
Gus is not only adorable -- he's also smart. He picks up new tricks quickly and is learning his leash manners beautifully. He's already house-trained and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to any home.
Gus would thrive with a nice backyard to explore, a furry friend to play with or kids to shower him with affection. He has a medium energy level -- playful and fun, but not over the top -- and he would be grateful for daily walks and adventures.
He's a true lovebug who enjoys life and every new experience with joy and curiosity. It feels like he has left his past behind and is soaking up as much happiness as he possibly can.
Gus is microchipped, neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for a forever family who will adore him as much as we do. Could that family be yours?

BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.
