Darrow arrived at the shelter on 8/7/2026, from one of our local rescue friends. He's an approximately 6-7 year old red heeler mix. We were told there could be some corgi in there, but he looks a lot like a purebred heeler. He's a really nice boy! Darrow will vet checked and neutered on August 26th and his fee is $150.

Darrow lived outside most of his life and was abandoned by his owners when they moved. He's a little unsure of things right now but likes people and is happy and affectionate. He kind of goes with the flow of things. He will need a little basic training and regular exercise. A home that has some experience with herding breeds like him would be great. We do think he would do okay with other well mannered dogs. Cats? It's hard to say. Kids over 5 would be best.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
