Callahan

Callahan came to the shelter on 4/7/2026 from the city pound when his stray hold was finished. He is pure energy in canine form. We think he's a pit bull mix of some kind, maybe with a smaller breed like rat terrier or Jack Russell. He seems to be around a year old, if not a little younger, and he has all the bells and whistles of a young, active dog. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $150.

Callahan needs someone who is ready, willing, and able to provide him with the training and exercise that he needs. He's a friendly guy but has obviously forgotten where his manners are, if he ever had them. However, the kid has potential (we're optimists). We think he'll be a lot of fun for someone. He really has a happy go lucky personality. Callahan would do best in a home without small kids. We're not yet sure how he would do with other dogs. Cats are most likely a no.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
