Meet Frankie - or "Frankie Dankie," as he's lovingly called.
Frankie started out as a street cat who was fed and slowly befriended over the course of a few years. One day he showed up limping, and it was clear it was time to step in and get him help. What began as a simple plan to TNR him turned into a full vet visit, where it was discovered he had an abscess from fighting and several old battle wounds.
During his care, he was vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. Frankie tested FIV positive, but his bloodwork otherwise showed he is a healthy, stable cat. He was scheduled for neuter, and given how friendly he proved to be, it didn't feel right to return him back outside.
Frankie has since fully settled indoors and now has a space of his own. Initially nervous around dogs-likely from past negative experiences-he quickly realized they weren't a threat and began relaxing in their presence. He now enjoys playing with other cats or entertaining himself with whatever he can find.
He still has that "outdoor cat" curiosity and will often wait by the door, hoping for a chance to slip outside-but he's safely enjoying the next best thing: a catio where he can watch birds and wildlife.
Frankie is an affectionate, social boy who would do well as an only cat, but can also coexist with other cats given slow, proper introductions. More than anything, he deserves what every cat deserves: a safe, loving home where he can finally just be Frankie.
