Hello, I`m Luna! I`m about 6 years old and weigh roughly 72 pounds.

** I still need to be spayed so when my forever family decides to adopt me I will be placed on hold. Then you can come pick me up after my surgery. **

Do you like...

Dogs? I came into the shelter with another dog and have been friendly but I would like to meet any potentially doggie family members before going home with them.

Cats? It is unknown how I would do with cats. With a slow, proper introduction I might do well.

Kids? I have grown up with kiddos and while high energy would be friendly with kids of any age.

Anything else you`d like us to know, Luna? I have primarily lived in someone backyard and am looking for a family who wants to welcome me into their actual home. I lack some basic manners but am VERY food motivated and willing to learn. I think I would make a great pet to anyone with some time to spend with me.

I came into the shelter as a surrender and the above information is all recommendations based on my previous history and the behavior seen at the shelter. Expect to learn more about me after adoption.

Greenhill Humane Society has been caring for animals in Lane County since 1944. We operate the only animal shelter within the Eugene/Springfield area. Our programs include animal adoptions; reuniting lost animals with their families; disaster response; crisis care boarding in situations of domestic violence, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations; spay/neuter for free roaming, un-owned community cats; a pet pantry; on-site volunteer opportunities; foster care and humane education.

Last year, we had 5797 total shelter and clinic intakes. We made 2833 adoptions into loving homes and had 1089 pet reunions for animals. In addition, we provided 1583 cat spay/neuter surgeries to assist cat caregivers in reducing feral cat over-population.

Adoption Process

Adopters meet with the animals available at our shelter or at off-site adoption events. They fill out a questionnaire and spend time with an adoption counselor to ask questions and learn more to ensure a good match. If everything looks good and the animal is already spayed / neutered the adoption is finalized that day. If the animal still needs to be spayed / neutered, they will be held at the shelter and can go to their new home after the surgery is performed (generally within 3 days).
