I came to OCAS as a transfer from another shelter. I'm incredibly handsome and such a sweet boy. I tested positive for heartworms and OCAS can talk to you about my treatment plan if you are interested in adopting me.In North Carolina, it's unfortunately common to see many dogs that are infected with heartworms (they are transmitted by mosquito bites). Heartworm disease may cause severe lung disease, heart failure, or other organ damage in dogs. It's usually fatal if left untreated. Heartworm treatment is costly. With your support, OCAS can help more dogs with this disease - resulting in healthier dogs that are even more likely to get adopted. Great with walks, especially on trails. Gets nervous in new environments and sometimes needed to be helped in the car because was refusing to get in. Once in car, enjoyed it and loved the front seat. Very calm and sweet personality. Shy at first but once he feels not nervous anymore he will come up to you and kiss you and lay next/on you. Loves hikes as well.Mr Bear is sooo sweet, he loves naps and to lay with you but also always up for a good walk or running around with other dogs. He loves to be the center of attention and get all the snuggles! I love going for walks with Mr Bear, he is really good at staying next to you when you set that expectation with him, and he responds well if you tell him to come walk next to you. He loves pup cups and rides in the car with the windows down!Mr. Bear was an absolute delight! He was so sweet and would frequently put his head on my leg and give me kisses. He is super treat motivated and loved his snacks along our hike. He was so good on the leash! Only time he would pull would be when he insisted on chasing a nearby squirrel. I can imagine he would be a big snuggle-bug if I had brought him home. He thoroughly enjoyed our walk at Eno River State Park and loved sitting in the water (and the preceding zoomies). He genuinely is just such a good dog. He walks well, is sweet, and just wants to be near people.Mr. Bear is the absolute sweetest! He is so friendly and loves everyone he meets. He has amazing leash manners with little to no pulling the entire walk. He does jump up on people sometimes out of excitement but stops if you push him off. On our dog day out we first went on a walk around the neighborhood. Mr. Bear loved to smell all the smells and walked amazingly on his leash. Afterwards we went to Starbucks where Mr. Bear got a pup cup which he loved! My favorite thing about Mr. Bear is how friendly he is. He could easily join any family as he is the sweetest boy in the world!
