04/20/26 17:05Looking for your next bundle of joy? Meet Rabbit!Rabbit came to the shelter in early April bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. He is a super sweet boy that just loves exploring the world. Life in the kennel has been pretty rough for Rabbit, and he doesn't quite know what to do with his energy. The person who found him had him in their home for a couple days and said he was very calm with them. Rabbit wasn't made to be cooped up and he is looking forward to the day where someone will give him all the pace he deserves.How about it? Will you be the person to give this pup what he's craving?07/29/26 15:35What I did today:Rabbit greeted his human friend with lots of love and kisses before happilyhopping into the car for his 5.5-mile adventure at Hellyer Park. Being a young pup, everything was new and exciting, and he eagerly explored while taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells the park had to offer. Throughout his outing, Rabbit remained calm and showed no reactivity toward other dogs, squirrels, geese, birds, bicycles (including e-bikes), scooters, or children. He handled every new experience with curiosity and confidence, making it a wonderful dayof learning and exploration. Rabbit had such an amazing time that he slept soundly in the car after his fun-filled adventure!What to know about this dog:• Treat motivated and trainable – Knows the cues `sit,` `look,` and `touch.` If redirection is needed, he returns to working for treats and responds well to food reinforcement• Deeply affectionate and people-oriented – always wants to be near his human companion, regularly checks in, and enjoys both giving and receiving affection• Good on a leash - Initially, he pulled on the leash due to excitement, but settled after a few minutes and consistently checked in with his humancompanion, when the handler stopped walking, he responded bystopping as well• Allows full handling – which includes his feet, ears, tail, face, and tummyThree words to describe me:Affectionate, Friendly, Playful
