05/04/26Meet one of a kind Walter!Walter is a 4 year old shepard that came to the shelter in mid-February. He loves other dogs and is even in our play groups! He has more of a push-pull playstyle and would do great with another friendly dog. He is not currently in our play group because he has not been baring weight on one of his front paws. Our medical team is keeping an eye on him and have stated that there were no broken bones! He just needs to take it easy for a little bit.Walter needs someone who is ready to give Walter the attention he craves. He is a total people dog. He has been experencing a lot of kennel stress here at the shelter and presents very poorly in the kennel because of this. And when it is time to come out, he gets over excited. Walter just want ot be a good boy and needs an adopter that will help train him so this dream can become a reality. He just wants to please. So what do you say? Will you ne the one to give Walter a chance?07/29/26 15:07What did we do on todayâs adventure:Hi, I'm back from my Tails & Trails adventure! I loved sniffing my way through the park, rode great in the car (I even jumped in by myself!), explored PetSmart like a pro, and happily accepted every treat I earned. I was friendly with people, stayed calm and non-reactive around dogs, joggers, and bikes, although I couldn't help showing a little interest in thosesneaky squirrels! What should potential adopters know about me:⢠People-loving boy who sometimes forgets how big he is! He can get a little jumpy when he's excited to say hello, but he's very responsive to treats and verbal corrections.⢠A regular playgroup participant who enjoys spending time with other dogs. He remains calm and non-reactive when passing dogs during outing, even in close proximity.⢠Smart and eager to learnâalready knows sit and down, and would thrive with continued positive training.⢠A wonderful walking companion who can be a little vocal when he's excited (`I want that treat NOW!`), but overall is a fun dog who just needs a little polishingâjust like most dogs!Three words to describe me:Social, Fun, People-Loving05/12/26 14:38What did we do on todayâs adventure:Big adventure day! I rode in the car, walked five miles, explored the park, calmly passed lots of people and doggy friends, and investigated approximately one million smells. I also tried to catch lizards because they are tiny rude dinosaurs. Then I went on a sniffari through PetSmart, got a pup cup, and headed back to my kennel like the exhausted athlete I am. My friend said Iâm a good boy. Obviously. What should potential adopters know about me:⢠Calm and well-mannered in new and busy environmentsârelaxed in the park, great in the car, and easily ignored passing walkers, joggers, and bikers. He calmly passed multiple dogs even when they barked at him. Showed some interest in geese and squirrels, and was especially curious about lizards.⢠Excellent loose-leash walker who checked in regularly with his handler⢠Highly treat-motivatedâwill sit for treats and takes them gentlyThree words to describe me:Affectionate, Goofy, Friendly
