Lucy #18 | 1-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix | Your little ray of sunshine
At just 13 pounds, Lucy is a whole lot of personality packed into one adorable little package! This sweet, friendly girl is the perfect combination of playful and cuddly. She loves meeting new people and other dogs, going for walks, playing fetch, and enjoying her favorite squeaky and crinkly toys. When playtime is over, she's more than happy to curl up beside you, rest her head on your lap, and soak up all the affection you have to offer. And if you happen to see her belly-up, consider that an invitation for belly rubs!
Lucy is doing wonderfully with her house manners and has not had any recent accidents. She lets you know when she needs to go outside by whining or standing near the door. She's also a fantastic houseguest when left alone, doing beautifully for 5-6 hours whether crated or loose in the house. She actually enjoys her crate and often chooses to go in on her own, making bedtime and time away from home easy. She's a smart girl who already knows "come," "no," and "leave it," and responds well to structure and boundaries.
Lucy gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and is always excited to make new friends. She has also had positive interactions with children under 10. She hasn't met any cats yet, so her compatibility with feline friends is unknown. She enjoys a good balance of activity and relaxation, with walks, playtime, and opportunities to burn off some of her youthful energy followed by plenty of cuddle time.
Lucy would love a home with another friendly dog to keep her company and provide a playmate, or a family where someone is home much of the day to enjoy her companionship. While she does fine on her own, she's still a young, energetic girl who loves having people and four-legged friends around. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate little companion who is equally enthusiastic about adventures and snuggles, Lucy may be your girl!
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following:
