Paige | 1-year-old Staffordshire mix | Enthusiastic little cuddlebug
Paige is a 33-pound Staffordshire mix with a big personality packed into a smaller package. She is sweet, affectionate, friendly, and full of puppy-like energy. She loves being with her people, playing fetch, going for walks, chewing on bones, and having a toy in her mouth at all times. She is also wonderfully affectionate and will happily soak up as much attention as you are willing to give her.
Paige is smart, treat-motivated, and eager to please. She knows "sit" and "bed," and she quickly figured out that her crate is a great place to hang out when her foster is busy. She is doing well with structure and boundaries and seems to learn quickly. She is perfectly housetrained in her foster home and has not had a single accident, although, as with any newly adopted dog, accidents can happen while she adjusts to a new environment.
Paige gets along well with other dogs. She lives with a 55-pound dog and they generally do very well together, although she can be a little too enthusiastic about personal space and has had a couple of disagreements over toys. She has also been friendly with larger dogs she has met on walks. Paige is interested in cats and has tried to chase the cats in her foster home, but she is easily redirected and seems more curious and playful than driven to chase. She is learning to leave them alone, so a home with dog-savvy cats may be possible with continued training and supervision.
Her biggest work-in-progress is leash walking. Paige is strong for her size and pulls quite a bit, so she will need someone willing to continue working with her on polite walking. She has plenty of energy and would love a family who can give her plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. After she's had a chance to burn off some of that enthusiasm, she is happy to settle down and cuddle.
Paige seems adaptable and could do well in a variety of homes. She could potentially thrive in an apartment as long as her family is committed to giving her plenty of exercise, and she could be happy as either an only dog or with canine companions. She may even be a good fit for a first-time dog owner who is ready for an energetic young dog and willing to continue working on her leash manners. Paige is an affectionate, intelligent, confident girl who is excited about just about everything life has to offer.
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!
