Brenda #2 | 3 months old, Lab mix | Happy little water-loving pup
Brenda is a sweet, playful, and incredibly smart 3-month-old Lab mix who is always ready for her next adventure. She loves being outside, playing fetch, chewing on bones, splashing in the water, and generally keeping busy. She is very inquisitive and learns quickly - she already knows her name and several commands, including come, wait, leave it, off, and down.
Brenda is currently living with a male puppy and an adult female dog and does well with both. She has also had positive interactions with cats. She is still working on her manners around other dogs while on leash and can bark or growl when she sees them. She also likes to jump up to greet people, but she is just a baby and is working on learning that all four paws belong on the floor.
She is doing great with her kennel training, easily settles into her crate, and sleeps through the night. She is almost completely house trained and will stand by the door when she needs to go outside, although an occasional accident is still possible while she is learning.
Brenda is a happy little greeter who loves attention and will rest her head on you or roll over for belly rubs. She also has a funny habit of hiding her toys. She is food-, toy-, and affection-motivated, which should make continued training a lot of fun.
Brenda would love an active, outdoorsy home with a yard and people who are around frequently. She came to ARR as a stray from Houston, TX and is ready to find a family who will help her grow into the wonderful adult dog she is already showing us she can be.
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.
