Bentley #4 | 3 months old, Lab Hound mix | Your new little shadow
Bentley is a playful, cuddly 3-month-old Lab Hound mix who wants to be wherever his people are. He loves following you around the house and being included in whatever you're doing, and he is always ready for some playtime, a belly rub, or a good snuggle. He loves ropes, balls, and even cat toys with bells, and he's also a big fan of walks and car rides.
Bentley enjoys playing with other dogs and would do best with dogs his size or larger dogs who understand puppy boundaries. He can be a little nervous and freeze up when first meeting big dogs, but once he is comfortable, he loves to play and be part of the action. He also gets along with cats and really wants to play with them, so a playful, dog-friendly cat could be a great match. He has done well with children of all ages and has no preference between men and women.
Like any 3-month-old puppy, Bentley is still very much a work in progress. He isn't house trained yet, doesn't know any commands, and is working on boundaries and appropriate play. He can be mouthy, jump up on people, and needs continued guidance and consistency. Crate training and being left alone are currently challenging for him; he barks and whines in his crate and has struggled when left alone for several hours. Because he gets very attached to his people, he would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time and can help him build confidence and independence.
Bentley is going to need a patient family who understands the joys and challenges of raising a puppy and is willing to continue working on house training, crate training, manners, and boundaries. In return, you're getting a sweet, funny little shadow who is eager to be your best buddy.
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.
