Scout #9 & Rosie #10 | 7-year old Terrier & 4-year old Whippet Mixes | The Spaz & the Snuggler

Scout and Rosie are a sweet pair who had to be rehomed after their previous family learned that their baby had severe allergies. It was a heartbreaking decision for a family who loved them dearly. The girls have lived together for four years and would ideally be adopted together, although they are not technically bonded and could likely be separated if the right homes come along.

Scout, a 7-year-old Terrier mix, is the life of the party. She is social, energetic, and loves people and other dogs. She enjoys fetch, tug-of-war, and pretty much anything that involves having fun. She has a great sense of other dogs and is surprisingly good at knowing when another dog isn't interested in playing. Scout can be a little stubborn, but she is very food motivated, which makes her easy to convince. She is also quite vocal, especially when playing. She walks well on leash and would love a canine playmate. Plush toys are best avoided, however, as Scout considers destroying them to get to the squeaker and stuffing part of the fun.

Rosie is a 4-year-old Whippet mix and the more sensitive of the two. She is incredibly sweet, loves to cuddle, and would happily spend her days surrounded by her people and a pile of plush toys. She can be nervous around new people and in unfamiliar situations, but she isn't aggressive and just needs some time to feel comfortable. Once she does, she's a loving and easygoing companion. Rosie is very low maintenance and does well with grooming, vet visits, and handling. She walks well on leash, although she can be reactive when other dogs pass by or bark at her. Rosie is also very vocal and will make sure everyone knows when someone walks by, a visitor arrives, or a delivery is at the door. She would enjoy a canine friend but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only dog, soaking up all the love. Rosie is not a good fit for a home with cats, as she can become a little obsessed with them and will chase them.

Both girls are house trained, although adopters should expect that accidents can happen while they adjust to a new home. They both walk well on leash and respond when told to stop, but may react to other dogs while out walking. Because they are both vocal, they are not suited for apartment, condo, or townhome living. A house with a yard would be ideal.

Scout and Rosie have a lot of love and personality to share, and whether they find their forever home together or separately, they are ready for a family to love them for the rest of their lives.





If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for this pet is $125. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.
