BIO: Henry was adopted out in 2020 and, through no fault of his own, was returned to our rescue. Henry needs a strong pack leader and someone who will work with him, as he is not fond of strangers and will voice his opinion.
With his family, he is very loving and loyal and deserves a chance to have a last forever home.
Our must-haves for handsome Henry include:
A fenced yard
A quiet home with few visitors
Someone who will work with him on walks to get his weight down
He would be fine with another small senior pet
No apartments, high-rises, or condos, as he will bark at outside noises

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
