Arthur- smart spunky senior

Arthur is with our partner rescue in LA and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter

Spunky. Smart. So lovable.

Meet Arthur, a handsome Lab/Poodle mix with a sweet soul, a playful spirit, and a serious appreciation for being near his people. This fun senior boy was abandoned by his former owner, but he has kept his gentle heart-and he is more than ready for a family who will make him feel truly home again.

Arthur was treated for heartworm disease in the and has been heartworm-negative for more than three years. He recently had a dental, walks nicely on leash, and happily sleeps in an open crate. He is house-trained and uses the doggy door like a pro.

Arthur loves dogs of every kind-young or old, big or small-and enjoys playtime with his canine friends. He is not a big barker, but he will let you know if someone arrives on the property, making him a polite little neighborhood watchman.

A few things to know about this lovable guy:

• He can be a little clingy because he truly loves his people.

• He will need regular grooming and an occasional brushing to keep his Poodle-like coat looking and feeling good.

• He can jump in and out of a regular car on his own, though he appreciates help getting into an SUV.

• He has an allergy to freshly cut grass, so his ideal family will be mindful of that after lawn mowing.

Arthur is the kind of dog who will make you laugh, keep you company, and remind you every day how special a loyal companion can be. He deserves a home where he can be included, cherished, and loved for the wonderful, affectionate senior he is.

Arthur is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. He has been neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
