Cats for Adoption in Flint, Michigan

To adopt a cat in Flint, Michigan, start by browsing available pets on WeRescue. Once you find a cat you're interested in, submit an adoption application through the shelter or rescue organization. Be prepared to provide references, proof of housing, and answer questions about your lifestyle and experience with pets.

Before adopting a cat, prepare your home with essential supplies: food and water bowls, appropriate food, a comfortable bed, collar and ID tag, litter box, and toys. You should also pet-proof your home by securing toxic plants, chemicals, and small objects. Schedule a vet appointment for within the first week of adoption.

Adoption fees in Michigan typically range from $50 to $300, depending on the organization and the cat's age. This fee usually covers spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, and a basic health exam. Adopting from a rescue is significantly more affordable than purchasing from a breeder while saving a life.
