Hi, I am Summer and I'm a very sweet Shepherd & Black Mouth Cur mix who is on the smaller side. I'm about 2 years old and fully grown at 50 pounds which is a perfect medium sized pup. I'm a beautiful girl and i have the a stunning smooth and silky coat. I'm a calm girl like my friend Rucker who is also looking for his forever home. We are pals and get along great and love to play together all the time. I'm great with all the pups I've met and love people too. I'm a very smart girl and both house-trained and crate-trained. I'll be a wonderful addition to any family and I'd love to live in a house, condo or apartment ithe suburbs where I can have a nice yard to play in and enjoy the smell of grass and warmth of the sun. I don't need a fully fenced in yard as long as my family will take me for nice walks. I can be a solo dog but would also be very happy with a doggie sibling. All I need is love and family to love me. Adoption Process:
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.Mission Statement:
