Description

Andy’s journey hasn’t been easy. Purchased from a pet store, he was failed by his first family, who never invested in his training or care—and when things got tough, they dumped him at a kill shelter in NYC at just 10 months old.

But Andy is a survivor. A true showstopper - he turns heads everywhere he goes with his striking looks and vibrant energy. He’s affectionate, social, and full of life. In his former foster home, Andy visited the dog park daily, happily greeting new people and playing with every dog he met.

Still, Andy is so much more than just a pretty face. He’s a sensitive, soulful boy who needs someone to truly see him—someone who will believe in him, commit to him, and give him the stability he's never known.

Andy recently completed a professional 4-week board-and-train program to refine his manners. Before that, he was mouthy and hadn’t been taught how to behave appropriately. He's incredibly smart and eager to learn, but he needs structure and consistent guidance. Beneath his outgoing nature is a sensitive heart that sometimes masks insecurity with unwanted behavior. He needs time—a few weeks to settle in, adjust, and feel safe.

Andy is not a difficult dog, but he is a dog who’s been let down too many times. He needs experienced adopters who won’t give up on him. People who understand that progress takes patience, and that love means showing up when it’s hard.

He’s a fantastic walking partner (the longer the better!) and is used to the chaos of city life—buses, crowds, running children, other dogs—none of it fazes him. He previously lived with kids, but at this time, we’re looking for a home without young children so Andy can be the center of attention and continue thriving.

Andy is 1 YR old, house-trained, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. We’ve poured time, love, and training into this boy because we believe in him—and we know the right person will too.

Are you the one who won’t give up on Andy?

Andy is not cat tested.

  • Mission Statement:

Good World Animal Rescue and Protection (GWARP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on a mission to save the most desperate lives in Azerbaijan (former Soviet Union). Animal rights in Azerbaijan are practically non-existent. Stray dogs are poisoned, burned alive, shot or euthanized by local authorities. GWARP offers a safe haven to abuse victims, dog fighting survivors, paraplegics, disabled, and blind animals. Our shelter is presently a home to 400+ dogs. Sadly, some will never make it out of our shelter, but most are able to fly abroad for adoption.
