Description

*PLEASE NOTE: We do not adopt out on a first-come/first-serve basis. Applications are accepted for a dog and then a home check is scheduled. If there are multiple applications for a dog, after all home checks are done, the dog is adopted out to the home that is the best fit for that dog.

Hello! My name is Saylor and my foster Mom says I am a sweet and gentle soul looking for a patient and loving furever home! I can be a little shy at first but with some time and kindness and even the company of another dog, I will blossom into the most affectionate cuddle bug! I absolutely adore other dogs and feel my most confident and comfortable with a furry friend by my side. My foster Mom says I would THRIVE in a home with another confident dog to show me the ropes and help me feel secure. Once I warm up to the people, I can't wait to soak up the attention and snuggle close! Best news of all? I am housetrained, up to date on my shots, and spayed, which makes me a girl ready to go! So if you are looking for a tender-hearted pup who just needs a little time to shine, I might be the perfect match! If you would like to meet me, please fill out a pre adoption application and a CDR volunteer will get back to you just as quick as they can!
Tail wags and kisses-Saylor

  • Adoption Process:

First step is to decide if you are ready for a long term commitment owning a dog.   Ask yourself if you are ready for vet bills, cost of food, training the dog, and what would happen to him/her if you became ill. Once you have decided you are ready for the commitment, the next step is to come to an adoption show and meet the dog you are interested in. Sometimes people fall in love with a picture, only to find another dog at the show better suits what they are looking for.    Please remember to bring all family members, including dog(s), who live at the home to meet the new dog.  We do not adopt out dogs as gifts.
  • Mission Statement:

Chicagoland Dog Rescue (CDR) brought a few people together who had been doing rescue work on their own. Our common goal is to rescue dogs that suffer at the hands of cruel or ignorant owners, owner give-aways, or those that are homeless. We are a small group of volunteers who work full time jobs and try to help as many dogs as we can, when we can.  Chicagoland Dog Rescue is a shelter-less rescue.  Most of our dogs are in foster homes, but we do board some dogs we take in at local shelters and vets. It is our dream to have a shelter where uninterrupted socialization will be the norm and we will be able to place as many dogs as possible in safe, loving homes.  In the meantime, we help as many dogs as we can, keeping them from being brought to various societies or kill shelters where 15,000 dogs
