Description
Oshie is a 7-month-old Australian Shepherd with a beautiful double merle coat. He was born completely deaf, but that doesn't slow him down-he's smart, eager to learn, and already understands several hand signals.
Oshie is a high-energy, social pup who loves roughhousing with his foster brother, playing endless games of fetch, chewing on a peanut butter-filled Kong, and proudly performing neighborhood watch duties. He's incredibly people- and dog-friendly, always eager to make new friends wherever he goes.
Like many young Aussies, he has strong herding instincts. But with continued training and guidance, these behaviors are very manageable. He's also a vocal guy, so adopters should be comfortable with a pup who likes to "talk."
Because Oshie thrives with other dogs and takes social and behavioral cues from them, a home with another playful, patient dog is required. He truly blossoms in the presence of a canine companion who can match his energy and tolerate his silly, little-brother antics.
His ideal adopter will either have experience with herding breeds or deaf dogs-or committed to work closely with one of ARMA's trainers to support his continued development.
Oshie is looking for an active, affectionate home that can offer him the mental and physical engagement he needs while fully embracing all the things that make him special.
