Description

It's hard to understand how these beautiful dogs who are good with other dogs, cats and humans end up in high kill shelters, but so many do- like pretty Kandy here. She was pulled from the Bladen County shelter in NC after being tagged for euthanasia-and she's a great save! Kandy is only a year old, but she's very smart and is indeed good with other dogs and even cats. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and ready for her forever home but would be delighted with a good foster home at this point. She weighs about 44 pounds and is very affectionate and sweet. She will make an excellent pet, whether temporary or long term! The rescue will provide a dog crate, dog food, collar, leash and anything Kandy will need during foster care.

  • Adoption Process:

Our goal is to match each of our rescue dogs with a safe, loving, and permanent home. To ensure the best fit for both the dog and the adopter, we require a completed adoption application, three personal references (including your current veterinarian), and a home visit, either virtual or in person. If you do not have any pets, then the request for a vet reference does not apply. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we put our hearts into every adoption. For more information about our adoption process, please visit www.secondchancehabitat.org/adoptions Thank you for choosing to rescue and save a life!
