Description

Is Porsia your Love Connection?

I’m a pretty girl with a fantastic personality! Ready for a fun time? Will you be my favorite copilot and partner in life? I may not drive fast cars although I have had to live life in the faster lanes due to circumstances. It’s been a thrill ride with a recent “freedom ride” from Texas with my puppies. Now that they are taken care of, I’m actively looking to settle into a more simple, yet structured lifestyle.

I’m just over a year old. I’m a dainty, light on my feet (or not too heavy on your lap) 45lb puddle of love. I’m a really neat, good looking girl who’s thankful for the soft place with my foster parents and 3 resident dogs (whom I adore) but I’m now looking for a real love connection of my own.

I’m a striking magical mix of Shepherd, Husky, and Cattle Dog. My one blue eye and one brown eye makes me a real looker! I would love an active family to share adventures with, solo or with other dogs who can keep up with me. I can be a bit of a chatty gal… it’s hard to hide my husky genes sometimes although when asked to “shoosh”, I comply. I like my crate (fully crate trained) and quiet down quick after a minute or two to nap or chomp on a good tasty bone. I make the perfect car copilot or couch buddy. I am a loyal pup but also really like to meet new people and furry friends. I tend to roll over frequently and ask for all the belly rubs and attention from humans, big and little.

I am very playful, enjoy a jog or a good hearty dart around the yard. I like my selection of bones and toys. Squeaky ones are the best and some fetch is perfect! After some play, I just LOVE to cuddle. I’m learning what your personal space is but I do love to be in it if you’ll have me.

I’ve been around other families, dogs, and kids during my time here in Illinois. They all have fallen in love and taken good care of me until my pups grew and I was ready for my next adventure. I’m still young and learning. I can get so excited to see you and jump up, but my foster humans are helping me learn better manners and ways to manage that excitment. I’ve been told I’m making wonderful progress. I am very motivated to learn and a smart one. I walk well on a leash. I do enjoy sniffing the cool air and exploring my surroundings.

I’m fully potty trained. I always take care of business quickly when I go outside. It’s cold here in Illinois, no doodling around out too long there for me. I sit when asked and listen pretty well when you tell me no or leave it. A firm “Ah Ah!”, I take the hint.

Can we make a date to meet, a match, or real love connection? I’ll be waiting content until then.

  • Mission Statement:

Safe Haven Dog Rescue was created by volunteers to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for homeless dogs and puppies. The majority of our dogs and puppies are rescued from Kill Pounds and Shelters. We are all foster based, meaning we do not have an actual “shelter”. We work very hard to find local rescue groups within these states to pull the dogs into their program while we coordinate transportation and placement into foster homes. We are dedicated to disclosing everything we know about the dogs in our program to potential adopters. Sometimes we know a lot but, often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses. While we don’t always know their past we are certain that by rescuing and finding them loving homes, we will make sure their future is much brighter. We hope that you and your family will be part of their future….  Foster Homes Always Needed! While you foster, we pay all expenses from vetting, to food and we provide a crate, leash, collars, and toys. Your family provides love (something they desperately need!) and a safe place for the dog or puppies until they find their forever homes. We also require that you have the ability to take these pups to routine veterinary visits at our participating vets. These vets are located in St. Charles, Naperville, and Elmhurst. Please email [email protected] for a foster application or additional details.
