Description

If you are interested in any of the dogs available at New Leash Rescue, you can reach out to the foster listed below for more information and then complete an adoption application which can be found at https://www.newleashrescue.org/adopt/policy. Please email the completed application to [email protected]

Baxter is a 10 month old heeler/corgi mix who came to us from a reservation. He is a very good boy who will make someone very lucky. He has an underbite so will need to keep an eye on his teeth including monitoring his bite over time. He is working on his house training and crate training and all things puppy, and doing really well so far. He needs a family who is willing to help him be the best adult he can be. Baxter is a friendly boy who loves to meet new people and get scratches. He does great with other dogs as well. He loves to play fetch, tug of war, and with squeaky toys. His foster even says he’s the best dog he’s had in all his years of fostering!

Adoption fee is $550 + tax (no checks)

Please ask if he will be attending an upcoming adoption event on Saturdays from 11-2pm. We rotate between the Burnsville, Cottage Grove, and Forest Lake PetSmart locations each month.

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
