Description

**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

Hi my name is Dolly. I'm about 1-1/2 years old and 12 pounds. I'm originally from KY where I was surrendered to the shelter when my owner lost our home. I am a bit of a nut, crazy and kooky because I love to run, hop and jump around. I have a foster sister who is not fond of me because of my antics so I do it all the more to aggravate her.

When I run really fast I'm airborne!! Since I love to do all these things, a secure fenced in yard is a requirement. I am not a dog for a tie out, I will hang myself. Being off leash is not appropriate either because I can be a little skittish and will run if you try to capture me. I doubt I will like a dog park, too many new things which will make me shut down.

I love to play with my foster siblings, wrestling and play biting, I can be a bit rough and I sound so ferocious but it's all in fun! I'm shy in unfamiliar surroundings. At home I'm happy and crazy like a puppy. Benebones to chew on and stuffed toys to shake like I'm killing it is fun!!

I love attention, being pet and snuggling really close but I don't like being picked up or being held.I sleep as close to mom as I can get. I need help with leash walking, my lack of confidence outside my home and yard is a little scary to me. It takes me a little time to warm up to people. I am a bit nervous in the car, only because I'm concerned about where I'm going.

Having a young fur sibling to play with and accommodate my antics is a big wish.

I am doing much better with my housebreaking. I will still use the puppy pad in the house, not always in the middle of it but at least I'm touching some part of it. Making me stay outside by myself won't work because I won't move away from the door. I do well in the crate for a few hours. Ideally having someone who is only gone a few hours a day would be perfect for me. Mom checks in on the camera to find that I rarely lay down, I sit waiting for her to come home and let me out.

I love food and will sit waiting for a crumb to drop if you let me. Since mom doesn't like that she has shown me the squirt bottle and that is motivation enough for me to walk away. My foster dad is a different story, he gives us whatever he is preparing.

I'm a sweet, kooky, fun loving, crazy girl looking for my forever....is that with you?

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
