Description

Meet Inigo, a 2-year-old lab houndish mix affectionately known as Nigo. He is a gentle soul with a heart full of love ready to love and be loved. He is soft and sensitive but very affectionate toward us. Inigo is discovering the pet life and enjoys every bit of it. Simple walks bring him joy. Making them adventurous as his curiosity allows him to explore. In the home, he is happy and content snuggling beside you or lying by your feet. He makes the best Netflix buddy. Inigo is very well house and crate trained. Nigo is a follower and seeks guidance and approval. A confident nurturing human companionship is everything he needs. He is a simple, easy-loving dog. All he needs is acceptance and patience. The world is scary for him. He was exposed to and endured abuse, neglect, and abandonment during the first few months of his life. But he is shining and striving to overcome those fears every day. He just needs compassion, support, and nurturing love to be brave.

Inigo was discovered abandoned in a cornfield, where he navigated the world on his own for an unknown period before being rescued. While he may appear lost in thought and easily overstimulated at times, he possesses the calm demeanor of an old soul and flourishes in an environment filled with nurturing love and a consistent routine.

Inigo finds joy in blending into the background, appreciating the comfort of anonymity. He is gradually learning about the joys of a loving home, and with gentle support, he learns to trust and settle in. As his confidence grows, he transforms into a wonderfully affectionate companion, always ready for cuddles and cozy evenings watching your favorite shows alongside his humans.

Inigo is not just a sweet dog; he has a tender heart that requires a patient and understanding approach. By fostering calm interactions and providing a peaceful environment filled with love, we have helped him flourish. Typically, it takes only a few days for him to feel secure in a new environment. Once he knows he can trust you, his playful and affectionate side truly shines.

He thrives in the company of other dogs, finding comfort and happiness alongside them. Following their lead. Inigo's respectful nature towards both humans and animals reflects his gentle spirit. Having arrived at the rescue at around five months old in early Fall 2022, after he and his brother had been abandoned, both have blossomed into the beautiful beings we see today thanks to the love and care he has received.

Finding the right, responsible home for Inigo is essential for his continued growth and healing. This month, he will accompany me on daily adventures, exposing him to new experiences that will contribute to his well-being. We invite you to get to know Inigo through meet-and-greet opportunities—whether it’s enjoying a stroll downtown, sharing a coffee at the park, or joining a gentle gathering with others. Together, we can help Inigo discover the joys of a loving home and support him on his journey to confidence and happiness.

Key Attributes:
- House and crate-trained
- Cat-friendly and respectful
- Dog-friendly and respectful
- People-friendly with understanding
- Excellent on leash with good recall
-Respectful of others' space
-Happy to just exist
-Not pushy and easily accommodated

Inigo would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and people dedicated to positive reinforcement training within a balanced pack. While older children are acceptable, they should be patient and respectful of boundaries and their space. Offering comfort and support with lots of yummy treats. Above all, Inigo needs a nurturing environment that encourages him to grow while gently guiding him through his uncertainties. Comforting love and nurturing guidance. His soft, gentle heart needs a strong, loving one.

So be prepared to complete an adoption application that asks for detailed specific information about you, your family, your home/environment, and day-to-day life. But more importantly, do include detailed information questions about specific needs wanted desires requests do's, and don't when wanting to adopt. This helps us offer other available adoptables you may not be aware of. Basic but crucial information to help best place our adoptable pets and please you. Please ask as many questions as you need to. Be as picky and specific as you need to be. This is what makes our adoptions successful and forever. You should expect a very thorough but simple basic screening. The process takes time being an all-volunteer base program.
