Meet Scooby Doo, a 4-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with a love-packed heart and a tail that could power a wind turbine—it never stops wagging! At 70 pounds of loyal companion energy, this well-mannered gentleman is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the center of the universe every time you walk through the door.
He’s a certified cuddle connoisseur and a true people pup—he’ll happily join you for a walk, fetch a toy, or stake his claim on the coziest part of the couch (his undisputed favorite spot). Scooby gets along with other dogs just fine, but his heart really beats for humans. He'll miss you when you leave, and celebrate like it's Christmas when you return.
Scooby Doo is a superstar in the house: fully potty trained, accident-free, and walks like a dream on a leash. He stays close when off-leash, listens beautifully when called, and makes car rides a breeze—though he may need some extra comfort if things get noisy or unfamiliar.
New people? He might need a moment to warm up. But once he does, you’ll be rewarded with his quiet devotion and snuggles galore. A quieter home with adults or older kiddos would help him shine, letting his soft, sweet personality flourish without overwhelm.
He’s not a big talker—just a polite bark to keep you updated on the delivery schedule—but he’s working every day on his courage and confidence, growing braver with every new experience.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in Milwaukee. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs.
