<p> KALI NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Come meet Kali and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (05/03) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Highway Alexandria, VA 22305)!</p> <p> </p> <p> Name: Kali Best Guess for Breed: Terrier mix </p> <p> Best Guess for Age: 1 yr as of April 2026 SEX: Female</p> <p> </p> <p> Approximate Weight: 36 lbs as of 2/15/26; might have a bit more to grow</p> <p> </p> <p> Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
</p> <p> Currently Living at: DC area foster home</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Meet Kali </strong>- a young, joyful, high-energy pup who's ready to find her true forever home </p> <p>Kali is a 1-yr-old mixed breed with a big heart and even bigger zest for life. She originally came into care when someone stepped in to keep her safe, and now she's ready for the stable, loving home she truly deserves.</p> <p>If you're looking for a fun, active companion-Kali is your girl. She is FULL of happy energy and absolutely loves to run, play, and chase a ball. A few rounds of fetch? Yes, please. A long walk or even a run? Even better. She currently enjoys multiple walks a day plus play sessions-and recently started <strong>d</strong>oggy daycare, where she's thriving and having a blast with other dogs. She would do best with an adopter who can continue giving her plenty of outlets for that joyful energy.</p> <p>Kali is also incredibly social and affectionate:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Loves people</strong> and has shown no human aggression-just lots of enthusiasm (she may greet you with some excited jumps!)</li> <li><strong>Dog-friendly</strong> when introduced thoughtfully, and she enjoys playful interactions-even with larger dogs</li> <li><strong>Daycare star</strong> who clearly enjoys being around other dogs in a structured environment</li> </ul> <p>She's a smart and trainable pup who is already picking things up quickly:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Leash skills are improving</strong> and she responds well to treats and guidance</li> <li><strong>Crate trained</strong> and sleeps overnight in her crate (she prefers a sturdy one and does best with structure)</li> <li>Separation anxiety has improved significantly with routine and consistency</li> </ul> <p>Kali does have a few typical young-dog quirks:</p> <ul> <li>She's a <strong>strong chewer</strong>, especially in her crate, so durable toys are a must</li> <li>She can be a bit <strong>jumpy when excited</strong>, so continued training will help her channel that energy appropriately</li> <li>She has shown some <strong>resource guarding in specific situations</strong>, which is manageable with structure (like separating dogs during meals or high-value treats)</li> </ul> <p>Kali's ideal home is one that understands her energy and is excited about it-not intimidated by it.
