</strong></p> <p><strong>Come meet Gilligan and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (5/31) from 12-3 pm at the Petco in Rockville, MD (1507 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852)!</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Name: Gilligan Best Guess for Breed: Terrier and lab mix </p> <p> Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of November 2025 SEX: Male</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Approximate Weight</strong>: 47 lbs</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Gets Along With:</strong> Other dogs! Gilligan is not recommended for a home with cats. We haven't seen him with kids but are happy to discuss integration techniques with any interested adopters.

He and his buddy Gingersnap were stray and found by the right person - someone who took them in and committed to getting them into their own homes. They both were heartworm positive, and we at Lucky Dog took care of their treatment. He's done with treatment and is now eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. He'd love to make pup and people pals along the way. And quality kibble, cushy dog bed, chew dog toys - yes, please, to all those.

But above all he wants to be safe and loved, to know where he belongs - and upon whom to bestow all those happy tail wags, to whom to pledge loyal companionship. Are you going to be the lucky recipient - and Gilligan's second lucky break too?

<strong>What My DC Area Foster Says About Me: </strong> Gilligan is the sweetest dog who's always down for snuggles, a squeaky toy or playing fetch. He loves the dog park and will bring you your shoes and leash when he sees you packing his chuck-it. He is house and crate trained [in my house] and spends the day finding sunny spots to lay in where he will purr like a cat when getting rubs, it doesn't matter if he's awake or asleep. He's a bit shy when meeting new people but when he warms up to you he'll be your new best friend!</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Heartworm information:</strong> Gilligan is a truly Lucky Dog! He tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.</p> <p> </p> <p> Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. </p> <p>
