We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! </p> <p> </p> <p> <strong> Currently Living at: </strong> DC area foster home</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong> Myrtle is Looking For: </strong>Her forever home! She is eager for sniffy trotting walks and all the adventures her new humans can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed - yes, those too! But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. (A name change is ok with her too - she keeps thinkng of Moaning Myrtle and wants you to know she is a happy girl, not a whiny ghost!)

Can you see her trotting by your side? </p> <p> </p> <p> <strong> What My Foster Says About Me: </strong> We will update this once she has spent time in foster care. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Heartworm information:</strong> Myrtle is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Myrtle has completed this activity restriction period.</p> <p><em> </em></p> <p><em> Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. </em></p> <p>
